Effective: May 1, 2024 SCHOOL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR/BOARD SECRETARY
Valid New Jersey School Business Administrator Certificate
Understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute, code, and GAAP requirements
Knowledge of accepted business practices in school districts related to budget preparation and administration, risk management, purchasing, transportation, food services, school plant operations, facility planning,
Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Prior Business Administrator/Board Secretary experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Systems 3000-Fund Accounting
Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
REPORTS TO: Superintendent of the Tuckerton Borough School District
JOB GOAL: To supervise, manage and coordinate the business affairs of the district efficiently and effectively to ensure that educational support services help to achieve the educational goals of the districts with the financial resources. Part-time position – 3 days/week.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Preparation/administration/submission of the annual school budget
Preparation/submission of all district financial reports
Coordination/Supervision of Insurance/Risk Program
Supervise School Facilities/Plant Operations Program
Coordination/oversight of shared services including Food Services Program, Pupil Transportation Program, Special Education Providers, Aftercare program
Prepare and submit IROC Reports and DCRP payments.
Entry of financial information into Systems 3000 and monthly entries.
Full understanding of payroll submission and assoc. reports – prior experience with CASA payroll services preferred.
