Title 1

Tuckerton Elementary School is a targeted Title 1 school.  Title 1 is a federal program under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.  Title 1 covers the fiscal and program requirements for improving the academic achievement of students who attend schools eligible for Title 1.  It is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.

Basic Skills Instruction

The New Jersey Department of Education sets minimum levels of proficiency in English Language Arts and mathematics.  Some children may need assistance or supplemental instruction in one or both of these areas.  Tuckerton Elementary School offers a Basic Skills Program.  The purpose of the program is to provide supplemental instruction in literacy and math in an effort to develop the necessary grade level skills for identifying students in grades 1-6.

Basic Skill Identification

Tuckerton Elementary School Basic Skills Program is offered to students in grades 1-6.  The students are identified for inclusion into the program utilizing multiple criteria.  Standardized test results for grades 3-6, benchmark assessments in NWEAMAP, IXL, and a reading and math diagnostic test as well as teacher recommendations serve as the basis for the program identification.

Students may exit or enter throughout the school year.
